BLOOMINGTON, Ill.-- The Illinois State women's tennis team (3-3) will travel to Indianapolis for a match up with the Butler Bulldogs of the Big East Conference (0-6) on Wednesday before coming back to Bloomington and hosting Chicago State on Sunday.
LAST TIME OUT
The Redbirds fell to Fordham University on Feb. 7 by a score of 4-0 inside Cary Leeds Center. Previously, ISU prevailed over the Marquette Golden Eagles (1-3) of the Big East Conference, 5-2, on Feb. 1 inside Sprovieri Tennis Complex thanks to two doubles wins and four singles victories.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Butler most recently dropped a narrow match to Arkansas State, 4-3, on February 7 inside Indianapolis Racquet Club. At No. 1, Chase Metcalf defeated Anna Grigoreva, 6-4, 6-4. In doubles play, Metcalf and Brooke Arington battled to a 6-4 victory against Grigoreva and Carla Muro Castellvi of Arkansas State.
SCOUTING THE COUGARS
In 2024, the Cougars posted an overall record of 16-13 and 5-1 in the Horizon League. Chicago State advanced to the NCAA First Round where the Cougars fell to the No. 3 Michigan Wolverines by a final of 4-0 inside Varsity Tennis Center in Ann Arbor, MI.

Illinois State will travel to Huntington, W.V. for back-to-back matches against the Marshall Thundering Herd (7-0) on Feb. 21 and Radford Highlanders (1-1) on Feb. 22.
