PEORIA, Ill.-- The Illinois State women's tennis team (7-6) will travel to Bradley University (1-11) for the I-74 rivalry on Saturday, March 22. First serve will be at 1 p.m. between the Birds and the Braves inside Markin Tennis Courts.
LAST TIME OUT
The Birds cruised past Chicago State on Wednesday by a score of 7-0. ISU moved their all-time series record to 10-0 since the year 2016. In doubles competition, the No. 1 pair of junior Lana Caculovic (Dugo Selo, Croatia) and freshman Nicole Iosio (Cordenons, Italy) took a 6-1 victory. Freshman Emma Lindh (Malmo, Sweden) and Graduate student Elena Jankulovska (Skopje, Macedonia) blanked Mackenzie King and Nadjema Morille by a score of 6-0 at the No. 2 position.
As play shifted to singles play, Illinois State won four matches in straight-sets. At No.1, junior Lana Caculovic (Dugo Selo, Croatia) played to a 6-4, 6-1 decision over Chicago State's Mackenzie King. ISU had the No. 5 and 6 matches forfeited by Chicago State to take all six singles matches.
SCOUTING THE BRAVES
Bradley most recently dropped a match against the University of Omaha by a score of 6-1 on March 8. The lone victory came thanks to Mariia Pukhina who battled to a 6-4, 7-5 win at No. 2 against Khayli Buckels of the Mavericks.
UP NEXT
The Birds will return to outdoor play for two consecutive matches on March 29 against UNI and March 30 when ISU hosts the Drake Bulldogs. Both matches will be played at the Gregory Street Tennis Courts.
