Women's Golf Heads to South Carolina for Third Tournament of Spring Season

AIKEN, S.C. – For the third time in just over a month, the Illinois State women's golf team heads to warmer weathers at the onset of its spring season, as the Redbirds travel to South Carolina to compete in the 12-team More Than Golf Invitational, hosted by the University of Augusta.

Alex Sparrow (10:10 a.m.), Reagan Kennedy (10:00 a.m.), Elise Fennell (9:50 a.m.), Dani Grace Schrock (9:40 a.m.), Reagan Braker (9:30 a.m.). The Redbirds will be golfing alongside Augusta and Denver through the first round of the tournament.

LAST TIME OUT


Elise Fennell was ISU's top tournament finisher, shooting rounds of 77, 77, and 77 for a 54-hole score of 231, finishing in a tie for 41st in the strong field. She had two birdies in her final round – including her final hole of the tournament – while adding eight pars over the final round. Dani Grace Schrock and Reagan Kennedy each tied for 53rd place individually, as each had a final-round 80 for a three-round score of 235. Schrock's final round had 10 pars, while Kennedy had three birdies and seven pars.

Nestled on 575 acres of sandy soil and rolling hills surrounded by towering longleaf and loblolly pines, Old Barnwell is a private national club near historic Aiken, South Carolina opening in 2023.
