NASHVILLE – Illinois State had it's six-match winning streak come to an end on Saturday, as the Redbirds (6-3) dropped a 6-1 decision to host Lipscomb (4-3) at the Huston-Marsh-Griffith Tennis Center in Nashville.
The hosts took the early advantage by winning the doubles point, with victories at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots. Lipscomb would then go onto win five of the six singles matches, including two that went to three sets. The lone point in the match for the Redbirds came at the No. 4 spot, where Nicole Iosio defeated Martina Bovio in three sets by a score of 6-2, 3-6, 6-3.
The Redbirds finish their weekend road trip on Sunday, when they travel to Cape Girardeau, Missouri, to compete against Southeast Missouri State at 1 p.m. CT.Â
