Just after the half (50:52), Eastern Illinois was awarded a penalty kick in the near north corner. Midfielder Alexis Miller gathered the ball and took a shot that hit off the post back into the group standing in front of the net. Junior forward Michelle Steinhaus collected the ball, taking a shot that flew low past second-half Redbird goalkeeper Katie Grill-Donovan. The Panthers took the lead, 1-0, and held on for the final score.
