Illinois State Battles Indiana State Sunday Afternoon

NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State soccer team is heading down the final stretch of the regular season with just four games remaining. The Redbirds (7-7-1, 2-1-0 MVC) host Indiana State (3-10-0, 1-2-0 MVC) Sunday at 1 p.m. to continue its four-game homestand. ISU is tied with Creighton for third place in the Missouri Valley Conference and has three games left against conference opponents.

"In our final four games of the season we are really looking to put it all together and play our best soccer," said ISU head coach Drew Roff. "At this point in the year players are fit, they understand what we are trying to do tactically and they understand the importance of each match. It really just comes down to execution and the desire to win. This is the most fun time of the year for us. In order to achieve our goals of winning the regular season and conference tournament championships we are going to have to have players step up and play big when it really counts."

HOME SWEET HOME
Adelaide Street Field has been a welcome place for the Redbird soccer team this season. ISU is 4-0-1 at home this year with a pair of shutouts. The Redbirds have outscored opponents 9-3 and hold a 106-21 advantage in shots. Away from Adelaide Street Field, the Redbirds are 3-7-0, have scored just eight goals, and have been shutout four times. Three of ISU's final four games are at home.

MUTTERS USES HER HEAD
Junior Danielle Mutters is third on the Redbirds with three goals and six points, both career-high marks. All three of her goals have come at home and have been scored on headers off corner kicks.

REDBIRDS-SYCAMORES SERIES
Illinois State leads the all-time series against Indiana State, 6-2-0. All six Illinois State wins have been shutouts, while Indiana State has never blanked the Redbirds.
