Redbird Soccer Ends Spring Season with a Win

NORMAL, Ill. - Redbird Raquel Rattray had one goal and one assist as the Illinois State women's soccer team ended its spring season with a 2-1 win over Loyola and a 0-0 tie with Northern Illinois in back-to-back games Saturday (April 18) at Adelaide Street Field.

Rattray scored Illinois State's first goal against Loyola, unassisted. Redbird Jessica Carlson then scored the Redbirds second goal with a header off an assist by Rattray.

"I am very pleased with the results of the spring season," said head coach Drew Roff. "We played well at times, and the times we did not play so well, we still battled and played with intensity. The team was pretty successful as a whole, but more importantly, every player improved during the season. Hopefully, the spring season will set the tone for the fall, and we can hit the ground running."

The Redbirds finished with an overall spring record of 4-0-3.
