DEKALB, Ill. - The Illinois State soccer team continued its spring schedule with a 4-1 win over Northern Illinois Friday evening in DeKalb, Ill.
The Redbirds jumped out to a 3-0 lead after 45 minutes of play, before earning the final 4-1 victory. Freshman Anna Stinson and sophomores Sarah Carlson, Heather Sterling and Kristin Cooley all found the back of the net for ISU.
"I thought we played a very solid game tonight and built an early 3-0 lead," said head coach Drew Roff. "It was nice to see us get off to a great start and hopefully we can repeat that effort on Sunday."
The Illinois State soccer team will continue its spring slate when it hosts in-state rival DePaul Sunday at Adelaide Street Field beginning at 1 p.m.
