NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State soccer team added transfer Paige Jarsombeck to the roster for the 2014 season, as announced by head coach Drew Roff Monday. Jarsombeck transfers to ISU with three years of eligibility, after playing her freshman campaign at Creighton.
"We are very excited to have Paige joining our program," Roff said. "She brings an attacking personality that will fit in very well with our current group of players. She is very good athletically, and she is a great competitor. I expect her to come in and make an impact right away."
At Creighton, the Palos, Ill., native played in 15 games with 13 starts. Jarsombeck earned All-BIG EAST Third Team honors, as she was second on the Bluejays in goals scored and led all freshmen in goals at CU. She netted four goals and had eight points during the 2013 season.
From 2009-2013, Jarsombeck played as a starting forward/midfielder for the Eclipse Select ECNL (Elite Clubs National League) team. She was consistently among the top leaders for goals and assists on the team, and had the ability to create goals both for herself and her teammates. Jarsombeck helped lead Eclipse ECNL to a 36-3 overall record during her last three seasons, winning their conference three-straight seasons (2010-12), as well as an ECNL national title.
Jarsombeck is already familiar with the soccer team, as she was teammates on Eclipse Select with current Redbirds Kara Morway and Dagny Olson.
