NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State soccer team will host its first Redbird Elite ID camp of 2017 on April 2. The camp will be held at Hancock Stadium and Adelaide Street Field and will be under the direction of first-year head coach Brad Silvey and his staff of Sarah Tompkins and Scott Myers.
"We have all of the pieces in place to be able to provide a first-class camp experience: an incredible facility, a fantastic coaching staff, and members of our current team," said Silvey. "Within our camps, we will recreate a similar environment that is seen on a daily basis with our student-athletes – competitive, fun and educational. All of us are excited to work with the next generation of Redbirds."
Redbird Elite ID camps are designed for those that aspire to be collegiate student-athletes. These camps are open to girls from grades eight through 12, with an emphasis on holistic soccer development through technical, tactical, physical and psychological training. The camps will each be capped at 40 participants to provide individualized attention through both training and match play. Goalkeeper specific training will be provided at the ID camp. The camp will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 2, T-shirts and lunch will also be provided.
