NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State women's soccer team (9-6-2, 3-2-0 MVC) wraps up their home slate when they host Drake (11-3-2, 4-0-1 MVC) Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. on Adelaide Street Field. The Redbirds defeated the Bulldogs in 2016, 3-2, at Cownie Soccer Complex in Des Moines, Iowa.

Drake – What You Need to Know
The Bulldogs are the only undefeated team in the Missouri Valley Conference. They are coming off a 0-0 tie at Missouri State, which snapped an eight-game winning streak. Rebecca Rodgers leads the team with 12 goals, two assists and 43 shots on the season. Haley Morris holds down the Bulldogs between the pipes with 81 saves and six shutouts on the season. The Bulldogs have scored 27 goals this season, with their defense only allowing 18.
Last Time Out
The Redbirds defeated Valpo (8-8-0, 2-3 MVC) Wednesday night on Brown Field. The Redbirds wasted no time with their offensive dominance to start the match, outshooting the Crusaders 10-3 in the first half. After a cross by freshman Jessica Denney, senior Emily Dickman gave the Redbirds the 1-0 lead after battling a defender inside the six and finding the back of the net in the 9th minute. As Valpo was unable to find the equalizer in the second half, Dickman's goal was the game-winner.

Saturday's match will honor longtime Redbird fan Halle Bloom, who is five years stable after being diagnosed with Craniopharyngioma, a type of brain tumor, when she was just three. The team will be sporting gold shoelaces in honor of childhood cancer and Bloom will present the game ball as an honorary captain. There will also be a halftime game with all Redbird soccer alumni, "Who's still got it?" to see who still has what it takes to play Redbird soccer!
