NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State soccer team will host its winter camp, Redbird Skills Academy, on February 24 in Horton Field House.
Redbird Skills Academy will serve as an opportunity for youth soccer players to learn and improve their fundamental soccer skills and ball mastery. Each participant will be placed into a fun and encouraging environment, surrounded with quality soccer staff and players from Illinois State University. Redbird Skills Academy is designed for boys and girls of all skill levels and ages from 6-16. Players will be divided into groups and receive age appropriate individual instruction. Activities and exercises will cover topics to include: passing, receiving, first touch, 1v1 attacking and defending, juggling, dribbling, cutting, turning, moves, feints and many other ball mastery skills. There will be two sessions, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. (Pre K-4th grade) and 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. (5th-8th grade). The camp is $20 per session and t-shirts will be available online for purchase.
