Busy Weekend Awaits Illinois State at TYR Invitational

NORMAL, Ill. – For the second-straight year, the Illinois State swimming and diving team will venture north to Evanston, Illinois, for the TYR Invitational, hosted by Northwestern, Nov. 16-18.

The Redbirds are coming off of a week of rest, after powering past Omaha (Nov. 3) in Illinois State's home opener, winning by a score of 176.6 – 66.5.

"This is the meet that we have been training for all fall," head swimming coach Scott Cameron mentioned. "We will swim against some great teams from other conferences, and we will have some great opportunities to have some good races. I'm excited to see how the team performs, the adjustments from race-to-race and their overall drive in each and every swim this weekend."

"We are looking forward to competing against some of the best of the best in the Big Ten, as well as other strong competition from other conference this weekend," head diving coach Phil Hoffmann added. "The divers have been training hard and we are looking forward to a championship format meet to see how we are in our season goals, both for this meet and long term."

The three-day meet will begin on Friday morning at 9 a.m. with the women's breaststroke preliminary race. Live results can be found on the team's schedule page on GoRedbirds.com, as well as the program's Twitter page.
