NORMAL, Ill. – The Redbird relay teams and divers will kick off the month of December by traveling to Terre Haute, Indiana, to compete in the Indiana State Relays meet. The event is set to begin at 12 p.m. on Saturday.
"We are excited to be able to swim in a relay meet like this after Thanksgiving break," said head swimming coach Scott Cameron. "It gives our team a focus through early December as well as allowing them to have some fun and swim events they normally would not swim. It will be a great opportunity for them to focus on more of the team aspect for this weekend and enjoy some good racing."
"I am looking for the divers to continue building upon what we have been working on through the first part of the season and that is consistency and performing as strongly as we can each meet," head diving coach Phil Hoffmann added. "The relay format should allow them to focus more on the overall performance and less on individual results."
The Redbirds will take a five-week break from competition, before returning to Horton Pool on Jan. 12 to host Davenport and Lincoln College for the only home double dual of the season.Â
