NORMAL, Ill. – The Missouri Valley Conference announced Monday that junior midfielder Kate Del Fava has been selected to the 2018 preseason all-conference team. Illinois State women's soccer was tabbed to finish fifth in the coaches' poll.
During her sophomore season, Del Fava played every minute of every game while scoring two goals, earning All-MVC First Team honors. She was also named to the 2017 All-MVC Scholar-Athlete Team. Del Fava was a member of Illinois State's 2016 NCAA Tournament team, appearing in all 23 matches with 21 starts in her freshman season. Her outstanding performance that year led her to be selected to the MVC All-Freshman Team. Del Fava currently leads the team in career minutes played.
Illinois State's regular season begins Aug. 16, as the Redbirds will host CSUN at Adelaide Street Field at 7 p.m. Admission to all regular season home games is free.
