Last Time Out
Illinois State dropped a 1-0 decision to the Miami RedHawks (1-2-1) Friday afternoon at Miami Soccer Field in Oxford, Ohio. The Redbirds could not overcome a slow offensive start that saw them take only one shot in the first half. Miami's Chloe Masys scored her first career goal in the 77th minute off a corner kick to give the RedHawks the edge they needed.
The RedHawks outshot Illinois State, 15-6, including 6-1 in shots on goal. Junior goalkeeper Haley Smith added five saves, improving her season total to 28 saves through the first five games. Sophomore forward Natalie Vaughn-Low recorded the lone shot on goal for the 'Birds.
