NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State swimming and diving team will kick off its inaugural season under the direction of Caitlin Hamilton on Saturday, when it hosts Butler at Horton Pool. The 16-event format is set to begin at 12 p.m. with the 400-medley relay and live results are available through the Meet Mobile app.

Saturday's meet has been tabbed Reggie's Kids Club Day at Horton Pool. Motivational cards are going to be given out to kids, so they can stay active throughout the meet. The cards will be Disney-themed and feature favorite characters from The Little Mermaid and Finding Nemo, as well as others. A Polaroid photo station will be available for fans on the patio outside the main entrance of the pool, along with a tattoo station, pin the goggles on Reggie and Cornhole. There will also be a T-shirt giveaway for Reggie's Kids Club members, while supplies last.
Scouting the Redbirds
Illinois State returns the 2019 Missouri Valley Conference Diver of the Year in Caroline Lecoeur after the team finished fifth overall at the championship meet. The Redbirds were picked to finish fifth again this season in the annual preseason coaches' poll. ISU returns five All-MVC performers, with senior Kierston Farley-Sepe leading the pack with three all-conference nods last season.
Scouting the Bulldogs
Butler opened its 2019-20 season two weekends ago, when it hosted Saint Louis, Evansville and Xavier at North Central High School in Indianapolis. Emma Harris posted the top performance for the Bulldogs in the 500-yard freestyle, placing second overall with a time of 5:19.29. The Bulldogs fell to each of their opponents in the dual-style format, tallying a meet-high 99 points against the Aces.
