ST. LOUIS – For the second time this season, Illinois State junior Caroline Lecoeur has been chosen as the Missouri Valley Conference Diver of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.
The reigning Missouri Valley Conference Diver of the Year swept the 1- and 3-meter diving events at Horton Pool on Saturday. The Lyons, France, native posted a score of 275.40 in the 1-meter, before returning to the boards and posting a score of 291.98 in the 3-meter event.
"I was very pleased with Caroline's performance in our meet against Indiana State," head diving coach Phil Hoffmann shared. "She had a solid performance on the 1-meteer and an even better outcome on 3-meter, hitting her highest degree of difficulty dive. We are hoping it is just a sign of things to come as we prepare for the Purdue Invite next week."
Lecoeur and the Redbirds will close out the 2019 calendar year next week when they travel to head swimming coach Caitlin Hamilton's alma mater for the Purdue Invite on Nov. 21-23.
