NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State swimming and diving team is set to host its inaugural Community Day on Saturday when Missouri Valley Conference rival Indiana State comes to Horton Pool. The 16-event format is set to begin at 12 p.m. with the 200-medley relay and live results are available through the Meet Mobile app.

The Redbirds will be hosting a canned food drive to benefit the School Street Food Pantry for ISU students who need assistance. Fans who donate a canned good will receive an ISU Athletics-branded PopSocket. All Bloomington-Normal community members and local swim programs are encouraged to bring their families to watch the Redbirds in action.
Scouting the Redbirds
Illinois State opened the season nearly a month ago with a 182-97 victory over Butler at Horton Pool, before falling on the road to Illinois and Southern Illinois on Oct. 17. The Redbirds were picked to finish fifth again this season in the annual preseason coaches' poll, despite returning five All-MVC performers from a season ago and the 2019 MVC Diver of the Year. Saturday's meet will be the final tune-up for the Redbirds, before traveling to head coach Caitlin Hamilton's alma mater for the Purdue Invite on Nov. 21-23.
Scouting the Sycamores
Indiana State is coming off a pair of dual wins over MVC rivals Little Rock and Evansville last weekend. The Sycamores were projected to finish third in the Valley's preseason coaches' poll, just two spots ahead of the Redbirds. Indiana State's head coach Josh Christensen enters his second season at the helm and his first season with a senior class that has been at Indiana State all four years, as Kendall Hansen, Cierra Campbell and Alex Malmborg all hold all-conference honors
