NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State Women's Tennis team will travel to California for three matches over the spring break period, taking on Westmont College, UC Riverside, and UC Irvine.
The 'Birds enter the week on a three-game win streak, collecting wins over Western Illinois, Butler and DePauw. Seniors Veronika Golanova and Jana Kustkova, sophomore Laura Fitzgerald, and freshman Tara Damnjanovic all went 2-0 over that span.
Westmont College is currently 8-3 on its season and is ranked No. 13 in the latest NAIA Coach's Poll. The team is led by Senior Isabel Lee and Junior Cade Pierson, who both earned All-Conference honors last season. Lee is currently 7-3 and Pierson sits 6-4 on the season.
UC Riverside owns a 3-8 overall record, after dropping to Ball State in the last showing.
UC Irvine is 12-3 this season and is currently on a five-game winning streak. Junior Ariana Tilbury boasts a 7-1 record this season, which is a team-best.
The Redbirds begin break at Westmont College on Monday, March 11, at 1:30 p.m., and will travel to UC Riverside on Wednesday, March 13. Finally, the 'Birds will wrap up the week with a stop at UC Irvine on Thursday, March 14, with first serve set for 2 p.m.
