Dates Set for Redbird Soccer Gameday ID Clinics

The Illinois State soccer team is set to host two Gameday ID Clinics at Adelaide Street Field during the fall season. The first will be held prior to ISU's 3 p.m. exhibition match against SIUE on Saturday, Aug. 10, with the second slated to take place before Sept. 8's home game versus Illinois. The clinics will be under the direction of head coach Brad Silvey and his staff.

"We have all of the pieces in place to be able to provide a first-class camp experience: an incredible facility, a fantastic coaching staff, and members of our current team," said Silvey. "We are aiming to replicate the student-athlete experience for campers by taking them through a normal ISU training session, and then later showcasing how our team applies training instruction to in-game situations. Through this unique clinic, campers will be able to experience two vital components to our program."   

Gameday ID clinics are designed for those that aspire to be collegiate student-athletes. These clinics are open to high school aged girls, with an emphasis on holistic soccer development through technical, tactical, physical and psychological training. This clinic will challenge your skills, knowledge and physicality within the game of soccer. Campers will be taken through a normal Redbird training session and then participate in small-sided games and 11v11 games. Capped at 28 participants to better provide individualized attention though both training and match play, t-shirts will be provided for all in attendance. Following the clinic, campers are encouraged to stay for the match and see the principles discussed in the clinic applied in a collegiate game.
