NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State women's team was tabbed as an ITA All-Academic Team, with five Redbirds earning a spot on the Scholar-Athlete list.
"This was an especially challenging season and I'm very proud of our student-athletes on continuing to excel in the classroom and achieving great results," Coach Maja Kovacek said.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average above 3.20 on a 4.0 scale. All varsity players are included in the average. The ISU women's tennis team finished the 2018-19 school year with a 3.6 grade point average.
Additionally, earning a spot on the ITA Scholar-Athlete list was Veronika Golanova, Natalia Bravo, Jana Kustkova, Ivon Mihaleva and Estelle Vanthier. In order to be qualified student-athletes must be a varsity letterwinner and have a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale for the current academic year.
