The Illinois State soccer team will travel to Muncie, Indiana, Thursday, to face off with Ball State at Briner Sports Complex. Kickoff with the Cardinals is slated for 4 p.m. CT.

Ball State – What You Need to Know
The Cardinals came away with two victories on opening weekend, including a 6-0 rout of Eastern Illinois and a 1-0 defeat of Marquette.
Sophomore Grace Alsop was named the Mid-American Conference's Offensive Player of the Week, recording a hat trick in the win over EIU in only five shots. Also scoring goals for Ball State over the weekend were Tatiana Mason, Julia Elvbo, Tatiana Hawkins-Dabney and Sam Kambol.
Goalkeeper Tristin Stuteville was in goal for both shutouts and earned herself the title of Defensive Player of the Week.
Head coach Josh Rife is in his first season with the program that was picked to finish second behind Bowling Green in the MAC Preseason Poll.
Illinois State vs. Ball State
The Redbirds hold the series edge over the Cardinals, with a 4-1-1 all-time record against Ball State dating back to 1999. However, the Cardinals came away victorious in the last meeting between the two, with a 1-0 defeat of the Redbirds in 2007.
Last Time Out
Illinois State was one of only two Missouri Valley Conference teams to record a win over the weekend, going 1-1 while defeating Omaha, 3-2, on Friday night to open the season and falling to Kansas City, 2-0, on Sunday afternoon. Seniors Kate Del Fava and Haley Smith were tabbed MVC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week for their performances.
