Illinois State soccer junior Natalie Vaughn-Low was named Missouri Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
The Redbirds have earned every Offensive Player of the Week honor since the beginning of the season and for four weeks straight now, with senior Kate Del Fava holding the title the previous three weeks.
Vaughn-Low played a part in each of ISU's game-winning goals over the weekend, to help the 'Birds go 2-0. She made her first appearance of the year on Friday, subbing in at halftime after having sat out thus far this season as she came back from injury. She had an immediate impact, giving the Redbirds the offensive spark they needed as she scored the game winner 14 minutes later, leading ISU to a 2-1 victory over Utah State.
"It honestly doesn't feel real," said Vaughn-Low after Friday's match. "It's been a grind to get back to seeing playing time on the field and it feels amazing to score the game winner in my first game back. I couldn't ask for more."
Vaughn-Low also assisted on Sunday's game-winning goal, helping the Redbirds edge Western Illinois 1-0.
This marks the first weekly conference honor of Vaughn-Low's career.
