Redbirds and Panthers Clash as Conference Play Begins

The Illinois State women's soccer team will travel to Cedar Falls, Iowa to take on the UNI Panthers in their 2019 conference opener on Saturday afternoon. Kickoff at Cedar Valley Soccer Complex is set for 1 p.m.

UNI – What You Need to Know
The Panthers come into Saturday's match on a two-game losing streak with a 4-5 record, most recently dropping games to South Dakota State and Western Illinois. Eight different players have scored for UNI this season, with senior Jordyn Rolli recording a team-high five goals and 13 points. Returning leading scorer Sydney Hayden also leads the team in assists (4).

Senior Anna Kaiser and junior Jordyn Petty have split time in goal this season. Kaiser played a full-90 minutes in their last match at Western Illinois, making three saves and allowing three goals.

Head coach Bruce Erickson holds a 27-17-4 record in his third year at the helm of the Panthers program.

Redbirds vs. Panthers
Illinois State leads the all-time series with UNI, 14-6. However, the Panthers came away victorious in their last meeting, as UNI posted a 3-1 win over the Redbirds at home during the 2018 season.

Last Time Out
The Redbirds came from behind to defeat Stetson 3-2 on Sunday morning, scoring in the 31st, 54th, and 79th minutes after trailing 2-0. Redshirt sophomore Sarah LaFayette, junior Natalie Vaughn-Low, and junior Alissa Ramsden were the goal scorers for Illinois State. Senior Haley Smith made six saves in goal as ISU claimed their fourth straight victory.
