NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State soccer coach Brad Silvey has released the team's 2020 spring schedule, as announced Tuesday afternoon. Between March 1 and April 25, the Redbirds will play in a pair of tournaments, take on two international teams while abroad in Spain, travel to face off with Purdue and Milwaukee and host their in-state rival Illinois at Adelaide Street Field. The 'Birds will begin the spring season at Illinois on Sunday, March 1, as they take part in their annual 7-on-7 tournament. The tournament includes host Illinois, along with Eastern Illinois, Southern Illinois and UIC. Illinois State will split into two teams in the event, competing as ISU White and ISU Red. ISU White plays at 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. while ISU Red will take the field at 9 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. The competition's semifinals and finals will be played at 4 and 5 p.m.
The Redbirds will face two Big Ten opponents, playing at Purdue on March 28 and hosting Illinois to conclude the spring season on April 25. ISU will also play Milwaukee in a neutral site (Rockford, Ill.) and take part in a round-robin tournament at neighboring Illinois Wesleyan with UIS.
