Redbird Soccer Modifies 2020 Foreign Tour Plans

NORMAL, Ill. – For the health and safety of the student-athletes and staff, the Illinois State soccer team has announced that it will be changing the location of its upcoming foreign tour.

"Over the past week our staff, athletics administration, University officials and Zag Tours have been discussing and monitoring the current health concerns in Europe. Keeping in mind and prioritizing the health and safety of our student-athletes and staff, our team will be altering the location of our upcoming international tour," ISU head coach Brad Silvey said. "The previously scheduled trip to Spain and France has been shifted to Costa Rica and the tour dates will remain the same, taking place during the Spring Break period, March 7-15, 2020."

The emphasis of the trip will remain the same for the Redbirds, as they plan to enjoy the opportunity of a lifetime while training, competing, exploring and serving in the country of Costa Rica. The experience will provide the student-athletes with a global perspective and have a lasting impact for years to come. Under NCAA rules, teams can participate in a foreign tour once every four years.
