NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State women's tennis team took down Western Illinois, 6-1, Saturday afternoon at the Bloomington Tennis Center.
The Redbirds (3-2) took an early lead against the Leathernecks by sweeping the doubles matches to earn the doubles point.
Senior Laura Arciniegas held Western's Grace Stevens scoreless at the No. 4 spot to earn a point for the 'Birds. Sophomore Tara Damnjanovic and freshman Elena Jankulovska also won their matches in straight sets, sealing the third win of the season for the Redbirds.
