How did your time as a student-athlete prepare you for this crisis? Do you see any similarities between being a part of your Redbird team and your department or healthcare team now?
My time as a student-athlete prepared me to adapt to an ever-changing schedule and environment. I learned in some of the hardest times that your team is what helps gets you through and it is no different in my current work environment. Due to the higher demand for healthcare during this crisis, I am being cross-trained to work in an area outside of the Operating Room which will force me to adapt to new teammates and to a new role for myself.Â
How has life changed for you since this crisis began?
Life looks a little different for me. While I am adapting to my current schedule and not being able to travel as much as I would like, I have used my time to explore the beautiful city of Seattle that I get to call home.Â
What have you learned about yourself during this crisis?Â
I've actually been learning to cook, trying to become the next Rachel Ray.Â
What about others or your community as a whole?
We were one of the first US cities to experience the pandemic outbreak, but I believe our community has done one of the best jobs of flattening the curve and staying home to save lives. We're all in this together!
