NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State soccer is set for a contest with Loyola Chicago Sunday afternoon at Adelaide Street Field. Kick off is set for 1 p.m. and will be available to stream on ESPN+.
Sunday's contest, Illinois State will celebrate its 30th season with Redbird Soccer alums in attendance and will be honored during the event. In Illinois State's first-ever women's soccer game, the Redbirds prevailed, beating Loyola 3-2 on Sept. 11, 1996.
Illinois State leads the series with a 14-10-0 advantage over Loyola and holds a 7-4-0 record in games played in Normal, Ill.
The Redbirds head into Sunday's meeting with the Ramblers after recording their third consecutive win with a 2-0 victory over IU-Indy on Thursday. Illinois State also recorded its third straight shutout win, the longest streak for the Redbirds since 2019, when they secured five straight shutout victories.
Freshman Rylann Law tallied her first career brace in the contest to become the first Illinois State freshman to accomplish the feat since Hannah Mueller on Sept. 16, 2018, against Western Illinois.
On Thursday, the Redbirds recorded 17 shots in the meeting with the Jaguars to tally at least 17 shots in a game under head coach Raleigh DeRose, and the first time since the 2020-21 season.
Loyola enters Sunday's matchup after securing a 1-0 victory over Purdue on Sunday, Aug. 31. The Ramblers are led by first-year head coach Jon Sandoval after previously spending the past five years at Northern Michigan University.
