DES MOINES, Iowa – The Illinois State track and field team wrapped up competition at the Drake Relays Sunday with the men's and women's sprint medley relays and the 3000-meter steeplechase at Drake Stadium.
"Our men's and women's sprint medley relays were very competitive today, with each carry running strong," ISU Director of Track and Field Jeff Bovee said. "We especially received strong legs on the 400-meter with Sarah Mussallem running 54.2 and Anderson Devonish splitting 46.2. Both races were during cold and rainy conditions. Those two relays were a nice way to wrap up the Drake Relays."
Women's Track
ISU's women's sprint medley team of Jalynn Roberts-Lewis, Katelyn Hill, Sarah Mussallem and Kaley Ummel secured 14th place with a time of 4:00.23. Meanwhile, Ariel Michalek competed in the 3000-meter steeplechase, finishing 12th at 10:44.15, which is the seventh-best time in program history.
Men's Track
The Redbird men's sprint medley team of Antonio Farley, Jalen Lewis, Anderson Devonish and Aidan Askin crossed the finish line in 10th place with a time of 3:25.76.
With the Drake Relays complete, the Illinois State track and field team returns to Normal, Illinois, to host the Redbird Invite this Saturday, May 2.
