Illinois State's last four-sport letterwinner (baseball, basketball, football, and track and field) ... voted MVP in both football and baseball, and captained both sports as a senior in 1955-56 ... led the football team in rushing for two seasons (1954, 674 yards and 1955, 486 yards) ... had a record 100 yard kickoff return in 1954 ... holds the highest single season batting average in ISU history (.443 in 1953) ... Interstate Conference's Most Valuable Player in 1955 ... a third baseman, signed a pro contract with the Cincinnati Reds ... coached Limestone's basketball team for nine seasons (116-114).
