IOWA CITY, Iowa – Four Redbirds collected All-MVC Honorable Mention honors to lead Illinois State on day three of the Missouri Valley Conference Swimming & Diving Championships at Iowa Campus Recreation & Wellness Center.
Freshman Emma Feltzer and sophomore Diana Walker earned their first All-MVC Honorable Mention honors of the weekend, each finishing among the top-eight in the 200-yard freestyle. Feltzer, an Edwardsburg, Michigan native, placed fifth with a personal-best time of 1:50.44, while Walker came in seventh with a time of 1:52.84.
Last year's Elite 17 Award selection, Emily Keebler, tallied her first conference accolade of the 2021-22 season, just missing First Team honors with a fourth-place finish in the 400-yard IM. With a time of 4:27.86, Keebler's fourth-place performance earns her All-MVC Honorable Mention recognition.
The 200-yard IM conference champion, Madyson Morse, finished fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke, earning All-MVC Honorable Mention honors with a time of 1:02.72 in the event.
On the boards, Kamryn Blake took first in tonight's 3-meter B-Final with a score of 235.55, while sophomore Paige Gidley achieved her first 200+ score in the 3-meter, posting a 201.30 mark. The MVC Champion in the 1-meter dive, Eva Reyes, will look to sweep the diving competition tomorrow in the 3-meter A Final.
The Redbirds remain in third place with one day remaining. Illinois State is tied with Southern Illinois at 306.5 points, while UNI is in second with 312 points and Missouri State holds on to first place with 575.5 points.
